MORE BUZZARD FOOD
E-mail from Michael Southall 29th November 2002
My brother told me of an unusual Buzzard sighting he had last
week. He was driving towards Drakes Broughton from Pinvin when he
saw a dead badger by the side of the road. As he approached it a
Buzzard flew from the right hand side towards the badger. The
Buzzard managed to avoid a collision with the car.
I came across two Buzzards together today, at Pepwell near
Hartlebury, where at least one was feeding on a Wood Pigeon. The
breast meat had gone and most of the internal organs. During last
season's ploughing I was joined by a worm eating Buzzard on only
one occasion. A pair successfully fledged two young this year,
the first recorded breeding on Norchard farm.
